The Cycle
The Teaching and Learning Cycle guides the work of teachers who work in professional learning teams to develop sequences of learning to maximise student achievement, engagement and wellbeing.
Our curriculum is developed using a backwards design approach, whereby final knowledge, skills and understandings are determined first and then learning tasks are scaffolded to ensure optimal student achievement.
The Instructional Model
The Parkdale Secondary College Instructional Model provides a consistent approach to teaching and learning in our classrooms. Based on the theory of cognitive science, this model supports a gradual release of responsibility for learning from the classroom teacher to the student.
